●南朝鮮（韓国）での売春業 その２

１９６０年から今日まで米軍基地周辺に軍用売春施設が存在する。例えばキャセイ基地やスタンレイ基地の
周辺などにある。これは韓国政府と米軍との協議の結果である。政府は売春婦を登録し医学検査をするように
要請している。
この政府の関与は北朝鮮から南朝鮮を守る米軍が去ってしまうのではないかという恐れが動機となっている。
From the 1960s and until today U.S. camptown prostitution still exists outside U.S military
bases (for example outside Camp Casey & Camp Stanley). This was the result of negotiation
between the Korean government and the U.S. military, involving prostitution for United States
soldiers in camptowns surrounding the U.S military bases. The government registered
the prostitutes and required them to carry medical certification.
This government involvement was in the past motivated in part by fears that the American
military which protected South Korea from North Korea would leave.
