<Ice Show Review>
So, I just got back from the McDonalds Family Tribute on Ice in Galen Center in LA.
The show my first live show and I was really impressed. The ice was small, but the seating
was intimate so everybody had a great view.
opening- Mario sang a one of his big hits….i forget the name. Kimmie, Sasha and Mari,
along with Jeff and Evan did a group number. Sasha stole the show, hitting every single note
of the music and completely performing with her eyes.
solo numbers:
Marai- very sweet, gentle age-appropriate program…landed a huge 2 axel
(she must be working on a nice 3 by now) and a cheated 3 loop.
Beautiful pearl-like spin, but a little wobble on her spiral.
Kimmie- skated to over the rainbow for the 1 billionth time. She certainly has her jumps back.
She looked confident, happy and fit. Her spirals, spins and choreography looks the same
but she was landing jumps all over. 3 salchow, a bunch of 2 axels, 3 loop…
her layback has gotten worse, but I would rather see her landing her jumps.
Alissa- That great Don Quiote program! She is so good in this program.
She become the character and as usual had lighting fast, centered beautiful spins.
She fell on the 3 toe, but landed a very nice 2 axel.
Sasha- This girl is a star. Anybody who says she could not come back in 2010
should have seen her tonight. Skated to “what’s left of me” by Nick Lachey.
She landed a perfect 3 toe and a perfect 3 salchow… her usual perfect spins,
she hits every SINGLE note and emotion in the music. The audience was put under a spell.
If the audience were judges she would win in 2010 hands down.
Marai was cute and all, but no way could she come close to that star quality
and bigger jumps that sasha has.
