A study in the Archives of Internal Medicine revealed that strict glycemic control and poor
glycemic control may elevate mortality risk in diabetes patients with chronic kidney disease.
Researchers said the odds of dying from end-stage renal disease was 35% higher for those
with A1C of more than 9%, and the risk also went up for those whose A1C fell below 6.5%.
