これに誤りはない。オカルトガンとは原発巣不明の微小乳頭がん（良性）のこと。
良性の微小潜伏ガンの中で「原発巣不明」が定義。剖検時に見つかるのは、潜伏ガン
であることも、狭義のオカルトガンであることもある。
ちなみに、子どもで潜伏微小ガンが頻繁に見つかるというのはチェルノブイリ調査時の
山下俊一が明確に否定している（１９才から８８才の２１５人中、発見されたのは
すべて４０代以降の検体、サイズは５ミリ以下）。いずれにせよ、福島のガンは悪性新生物１５ミリ。
潜伏ガンの話をすること自体に意味がない。
Nevertheless, a histological review of thyroid cancers [reveal that] occult thyroid carcinoma is observed rarely at autopsy
in adolescents. Recently, the incidence of occult thyroid carcinoma in Minsk, Belarus was investigated in 215 autopsy cases aged 19 to 88 years.
Carcinoma was found 20 cases (9/3%). All patients were over 40 years old, and all except one of the tumors were papillary carcinoma smaller than 5 mm in diameter.
In our series, the mean tumor size was 16 mm, with a minimum diameter of 6mm. These facts suggest that the increase in childhood thyroid cancer is due,
not to the detection of occult carcinoma, but to other factors such as radiation exposure.
