まぁ普通はLISTMAX=0だよな
ところでmanには↓のように書いてあるが
If the value is negative, the list will be shown if it spans
at most as many lines as given by the absolute value.
「the list will be shown」ってのは「the asking message will be shown」みたいに言うべきじゃないかな？
