PREFACE
This report is based on the information obtained from the interrogation
of twenty Korean "comfort girls" and two Japanese civilians captured
around the tenth of August, 1944 in the mopping up operations after the
fall of Myitkyin a in Burma.
The report shows how the Japanese recruited these Korean "comfort girls",
the conditions under which they lived and worked, their relations with
and reaction to the Japanese soldier, and their understanding of the
military situation.
A "comfort girl" is nothing more than a prostitute or
"professional camp follower" attached to the Japanese Army for the benefit
of the soldiers.
The word "comfort girl" is peculiar to the Japanese.

序文
このレポートは、ビルマのミッチーナ攻略後、1944年の8月10日頃の掃討の際に捕虜
となった20人の朝鮮人慰安婦と２人の日本人民間人の尋問から得られた情報に基づい
ています。報告書は、日本軍がこれらの朝鮮人慰安婦をどのように募集したか、彼ら
の居住、就業、日本兵との関係と関わり、および知り得ている軍事情報を示しています。
慰安婦は軍の兵士の為、軍に随行した売春婦、或いは業者に過ぎません。
”慰安婦”というのは日本人特有の言葉です。
