Algeria's bombings: al Qaeda strike at French-Algerian rapprochement?

But unlike in the past decade, today's operations are strategically coordinated
with al Qaeda central, not in terms of operations but policies and international
decision making. However I believe that this particular attack is a response to
the recent visit by French President Nicholas Sarkozy to Algeria. It is directed
against the number of agreements signed by the Government of Abdelaziz Bouteflika
with the Paris presidential delegation.
今回のテロ事件は、アルカイダ・セントラルの戦略的にコーディネートしたものであって
ローカルなテロ戦術オペレーションではなく、政治的効果を狙ったものであろう。つまり
最近のサルコジ大統領のアルジェリア訪問に対するアルカイダの直接的な反撃である。
Abdelaziz Bouteflika政権がフランスと結んだ幾つかの条約に対する反対である。
アルカイダからみて、北アフリカの政治的・経済的安定化は望ましくなく、EUと北アフリ
カの経済関係の進展を妨害することが目的であろう。
アメリカの911につづいて、マドリッドの311テロがあり、今回のアルジェリアの1211テロ
はシンボリックな政治性があるかもしれない。
