To begin with, somebody, by citing the claim of an Austrian
site, vehemently claims that SGI is an evil cult! That person
obviously ridicules SGI for just that reason.
In my understanding, however, this sort of argument should be
carefully pondered from the perspective of what sort of
doctrine SGI has and the influence that SGI exerts upon the
society, rather than from the perspective of what sort of
institution labels a certain religious group as “cult”.
For this reason, when Nichiren Daishonin was still alive,
his religious group was labeled as “evil cult and was subject
to being persecuted. However, is it reasonable to claim that
Nichiren was the founder of “evil cult” just because the
authority regarded so? It is, in my understanding, such a
childish idea to claim so. However, of course regarding SGI
as so called “cult”might be plausible so this matter should
be carefully examined from positive and negative perspectives
regarding Gakkai. Let me do this task!
