日本政府は、国会議員の問い合わせに答え、文書で「従軍慰安婦への日本軍の強制連行の
証拠は無い」との立場を明らかにした。これは1993年の河野談話に矛盾する。
The 1993 declaration said: “The Government study has revealed that in many cases they
were recruited against their own will, through coaxing, coercion, etc., and that, at
times, administrative/military personnel directly took part in the recruitments.”
1993年の河野談話は「政府の調査に拠れば、多くのケースで本人の意思に反して、騙したり
脅したりして、慰安婦が集められ、当時の政府や軍部は直接的にこれらに関与した」として
