"I think that the way I would characterize it is so far, so good. It's very early,"
Gates said in an interview on CBS' "Face the Nation" program.
"I would say that the Iraqis are meeting the commitments that they have made to us,"
he said, pointing out that Iraqis have sent troops, allowed security operations in all
neighborhoods and shown little political interference with military operations.
