特殊メイクで老婦人に変装したパトリシア・ムーアさんが町へ買い物に出かけるというシチュエーションです。
①One day Pat went to a stationery store disguised as an old woman.
②The clerk appeared not to have noticed her.
③He neither said"Hello"nor"Can I help you?"
④When she said,"Could I have a typewriter ribbon,please?"the man asked unpleasantly,"What kind?"
⑤She replied,"A black one."
⑥Then he barked,"No,no,no! I meant,'What kind of typewriter do you have?'"
⑦The next day she went to the same store as a young woman,wearing sunglasses.
⑧The moment she entered the store,she heard a very friendly greeting from the same man,"May I help you?"
⑨Pat repeated the same reguest in the same manner as she had the day before.
⑩But this time he was friendly and kind.
⑪If she had not been there as an 85-years-old woman,she would have believed the man was kind to everybody.
