ストックホルム欠場宣言
"2008 has been a tough year for me as I was always playing catch up after being diagnosed with mononucleosis at the beginning of the year.
I feel fortunate to be healthy again, but I want to remain at the top of the game for many more years to come and go after the #1 ranking again.
In order to do that, I need to get a proper rest and get strong again so that I am 100% fit for the remainder of the year or next year.
At this point, I am not sure when I will be ready to play again, but I hope to be back at some point before the end of the year
2008年は厳しい年だった、いきなり病気した。幸い今は回復した。あと数年トップレベルで戦いたい。
ナンバー1に戻りたい。今は休みが必要。ちょっと準備できてないんだ。年が終わる前には戻りたい。

I have decided to play the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris this week.
I am feeling great after a third consecutive win in my hometown Basel.
It was a terrific week and I would like to thank all of you who came out to the tournament to support me.
The Swiss Indoors have really been one of the highlights of this season so far.
Hopefully things will continue to go well in Paris; I’m looking forward to seeing lots of you there!
今週のパリに出ることに決めた。バーゼル3連覇のあとすごくいい感じ。
バーゼルはほんと良かった。パリでもこれが続くといいなと思う。
