などと２０世紀の科学史に輝くDNAの構造発見に比類するぐらいの業績とされているのも頷ける。
だって本当に砒素だけでリン無しで生きていけるなら、非ＤＮＡによる生命体ってことだし。
家にいるんで論文の本文読めないけど、要旨読む限りでは、
Our data show evidence for arsenate in macromolecules that normally contain phosphate,
most notably nucleic acids and proteins.
となってるんで、核酸も砒素で構成されているらしいからね。まあ今後精査は必要だろうけど。
