When GD is maxing out the CPU, launch FileMon. It will ask for various
details on starting. In the "Include" section I used "google*" to
narrow its scope to looking for file actions performed by Google
Desktop. For the checkboxes I only enabled "Log Reads" and "Log
Successes". Click OK and you should see a stream of entries appear in
the window, amongst which is the file that GD will be attempting to
read from. If you see 1 file shown many many times, that's the one
that needs to be fixed or renamed or deleted.
