追記です。
/opt/rubygems/gems/activesupport-1.4.2/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb の該当のエラー行ですが、

ってかんじです。
mongrel のバージョンが古い気がして、
# gem uninstall mongrel
# gem install mongrel --include-dependencies
しても ver 0.3.3 のままです。
最新版の 1.0.1 って ruby のバージョンの関係とかでインストールできないのでしょうか？
おまけに
# gem update
すると mongrel と mysql だけ何度 update しても再インストールされます。。。
