入れたてのvine3.0にatiドライバ(fglrx-4.3.0-3.14.6.i386)を入れてみました。
環境
CPU Celeron D 320(定格)
MB GA8IPE-1000G
MEMORY 1G(DDR266)
VGA XiAi RADEON 9550 128MB(64bit)
入れる前
[root@X68 root]# glxgears
958 frames in 5.0 seconds = 191.600 FPS
924 frames in 5.0 seconds = 184.800 FPS
1056 frames in 5.0 seconds = 211.200 FPS
924 frames in 5.0 seconds = 184.800 FPS

入れた後
[root@X68 root]# glxgears

インストールが終わってfglrxconfigやxorgconfigなどの設定をいじらずに
1.5倍になりました(Xorg.confの中身も変化なし)。
NVIDIAの様にインストール後に設定をさわる事がない分楽かも。
ただXlibのメッセージが気になりますが。
