1Gくらいのファイルを圧縮してみれ。 
例えばPen4のマシーンとお使いのセレ400で同時に圧縮開始すれば 
明らかな差が出る。 
そもそも、CD-Rで何かのCDを焼く場合、今は最低CPUは600以上と言われるのは 
CD-Rで何かを焼きながら他の事が出来なくなることが多いから。 
これも例えると、アドビフォトショップを使いながらCD-Rを焼いてみれ。 
多分、今使ってるセレ400じゃフリーズするだろ。 
つまりそういうこと。 
ただし、CD-R焼くときは他に何もしなければいいじゃんとかいうのはナシ。 
まぁ、CD-Rを焼くだけしかパソコン使わないやつはCPU関係ないだろうけどね
