要はshe is intelligentとshe is beautifulの程度が同じだということだ。

She looked paleとher husband was jovialの程度が同レベルだったということだ。
「夫が陽気だったのに対して、彼女は青ざめて見えた」くらいの意味だよな。

に分けられるって言うのか？
