Itの代わりに主語になるのは、to不定詞の目的語であり、to不定詞の意味上の主語はなれない。
一つ注意しなければならないのは、tough構文は、特定の名詞（総称名詞を含む）の恒常的特性を
表すので、一時的な理由を表すような副詞節などは伴えない。
例えば、
○John is impossible to talk to because he is extremely stubborn.
×John is impossible to talk to because he is out of town.
