・IOC副会長のThomas Bach氏は、チベットの抗議者に対し流血を伴う弾圧を行ったことを
受け、多くのトップアスリート達が中国で開催される五輪へのボイコットを考えていることを、
新聞社の取材に対し明らかにした。
Bach氏は「今回中国に対して起きている議論は、1980年にソ連のアフガニスタン侵攻を
受け、米国主導でモスクワ五輪をボイコットする前に起きた議論を彷彿させる」と述べ、
チベットでの暴力行為の中止を要請した。

International Olympic Committee (IOC) vice-president Thomas Bach says a number of top
athletes are considering boycotting the games in China over the bloody crackdown on
protesters in Tibet.
