STOP PRESS: SEA SHEPHERD CAPTAIN SHOT AT
"The captain of the Sea Shepherd anti-whaling ship, the Steve Irwin, says he was shot at by Japanese whalers.
"Paul Watson says he was shot by someone on the whaling vessel the Nissin Maru, some time this afternoon.
"He says he was not injured as he was wearing a bullet-proof vest. He says a bullet was found in the vest he was wearing.
"Mr Watson says it is the first time the Japanese ship has responded with firearms."
