つまり、787の根本的な問題は重量超過なのだが、これは複合材の強度マージンを取りすぎてしまったことによる。
多くの部位で所要強度の200%オーバーが発覚。確かに重量削減の余地は大きいが、時間も手間もかかる。
7号機では翼関係から重量削減に手をつけてあるが、本格的な対策は最初の20機には間に合わない。
