Why is this concept so difficult? If you're a foriegn man in Japan you're hot stuff, even if the women in your home country turned their noses up at you
(not that there aren't tons of great guys too, but I've seen plenty of "she's with him WHY?") Why do women have such a hard time getting a serious relationship in Japan,
and more importantly, what to do about it?

I saw a Japanese man walking down the street with a non-Japanese girl arm in arm. But honestly, such couples are rarely seen at least where I live. Guess it's because:
1) fewer non-Japanese girls try to live/stay in Japan.
2) Something like a language barrier exists between Japanese males and non-Japanese females.
On the other hand, more Japanese girls love to go to school where they learn English(maybe some are not in earnest, though).
3) Japanese males're shier than you think.
And I think Japanese girls are more aggressive than you think. So if you stick to the notion that they are subbortinate to males, you're completely wrong, as long as you're talking about 21 century.

maybe definition of "attractive woman" is way too different
typical western attractive women are usually not the most attractive
not only well explained stuff as:
smile/talkative/outgoing are not valued too high
rough fasion/light or no make-up is thought unattractive
but:
we simply preffer different type of looking
sometimes western women who claim themselves as pretty
are not pretty to japanese men at all
and sometimes it is almost laughable when they act like
they are the prettiest
i rememer that an american girl whom i thought very pretty
was the ugliest to american guys
