There is no such thing as Law PhD in the US. Law PhD equivalent is JD.

Your father must have been a useless and worthless guy to be a law clark for life having JD and having passed a bar exam.... I pitty you.
Or, he might not have had the degree or have not been admitted to any BAR in the states. He probably just lied to you that he was a lawyer....
FYI, if you get a degree from non-accredited institution, you will be most likely end up like your father.
