６月を「水無月（みなづき）」とする暦に、違和感を覚える人は多いでしょう。水の多い雨期なのに、水が無いとは？
▼もともと旧暦６月の呼び名ですが、いまは新暦６月に「水無月」と記すカレンダーが少なくありません。
旧暦でも、今年の場合は新暦７月１日が旧暦６月１日にあたります。やはり、梅雨がまだ続く雨期には違いありません
▼文字通り水の無い月と考える説は、季節の変化に着目します。やがて梅雨が終わり、水もかれる月です。
対して、いま有力な説は、「水無月」実は「水の月」と考えます。田植えも終わり田ごとに水が注がれる月だった、と

太平洋戦争中の「修身」教科書に、「サイケイレイ」のページがあります。
いまの小学３年生ぐらいの子どもに教えました▼天皇誕生日。全校生徒が集まっている。
天皇と皇后の「オシャシン」に向かって、「サイケイレイ」。「『君ガ代』ヲ ウタヒマシタ」。
年長の子ども用の「修身」が、「天皇陛下のお治めになる御代は、千年も萬（まん）年もつづいて、おさかえになりますやうに」と解説した「君が代」です
▼「サイケイレイ」が載る教科書の名は、「ヨイコドモ」でした。大阪の橋下知事も、「ヨイコドモ」「ヨイセンセイ」をつくりたいのでしょう。
権力者にさからわない、よい子ども、よい先生を
▼知事は条例で、「君が代」斉唱のとき教師に起立を強制します。知事はいいます。
公務員である教師が職務命令に従わなければ、行政はなりたたない。「（公務員に）自由なんかないんですよ」。
会見に集まる記者たちにも、問いました。みなさんも上司の命令に対し、個人の思想・良心の自由がある、といえるのか？
▼待ってほしい。いま、わが国で改めるよう求められているのが、上いいなりの行政や会社のあり方でしょう。
原子力開発をみれば分かります。「国策」の名のもとに、原発の安全に疑問をなげかける研究者に冷や飯を食わせ、異なる意見をしめだす。

But Jesus did not say [ that he would not die ]; he only said,

This is the disciple [ who testifies to these things ] and [ who wrote them down ].
We know [ that his testimony is true ].
Jesus did many other things as well.

Scientists predict rare 'hibernation' of sunspots
For years, scientists have been predicting
