Subject: An female sun bears(Helarctos malayanus) was abused to death in the Maruyama Zoo in Japan
The female sun bear died by wounds (some of four broken rib bones penetrated her gut)
after attacked by a young male sun bear, who was a stranger to her.
The zoo staff let them together repeatedly over one month
and each time the female was attacked and injured by him.
The zoo neglected claims and warnings from the visitors,
and did not even provide sufficient medical care to the female bear.
