QPR to tour Malaysia as executives talk to Korean sponsors
Tony Fernandes, the owner of English Premier League club Queens Park Rangers,
is bringing the team to Malaysia as part of its pre-season training, and is in South Korea shoring up new sponsorship deals for the team.
Fernandes said he is extremely proud to be in a position to bring the team to Malaysia, especially since he only recently become involved with the club.
Fernandes also owns AirAsia, the club's major sponsor.
The club's chief executive officer Philip Beard said that the pre-season tour is an important part of the team's preparation and that it is not "just a PR trip".
The Queens Park Rangers will play Indonesia’s Persebaya Surabaya in Surabaya on July 23.
