それぞれの競技が始まる45分前にコンピューターによる抽選で
ランダムカットされる。
誰がランダムカットの対象かどうかはジャッジには知らされない。
A panel of nine judges scores the programs. A random, secret draw is
conducted by computer 45 minutes prior to the start of each segment of the
competition (e.g., men's short program or original dance) to determine the
seven judges whose marks will form the result for that segment. The marks
of all nine judges are still displayed and a judge does not know whether or
not his/her marks are contributing to the score.
After the high and low values out of the seven-judge panel are dropped, the
remaining five are averaged. This number is the panel's score for that
element. The panel's scores for all of the elements are added together to
determine the Total Element Score (TES) for the program.
