Japan reached the last 16 of the World Cup by having a better disciplinary record than Senegal - after losing to Poland in their final Group H game.

Any team in that position would have probably done the same.
Remember, no rules were broken unlike all the cheating we've seen going on in this tournament so far.
Lol a farce? What are you on about? They did what they had to do in order to get through!
And Michael O'Neill hang your head in shame because, let's face it, if you were in that position you would have done exactly the same thing. Muppet!
What is the difference between this and England vs Belgium game now...? Haha
What do you expect? Any nation will do the same including England. So get off your high horse
Japan did the right thing under the circumstances.
why did Poland stop playing?
Everyone plays by the same rules so stop complaining.
I can understand Japan settling for what they had (even if it was high risk).
What I don't understand is why Poland also stopped playing.
Any team would would have played like that in the same situation...Some even do it every match!...;)
Rules are rules, same for everyone so what’s the issue?
England making 8 changes tonight ....why not put best team out to try and top the group?
To be honest, I can’t see any other nation would played differently if they were in same position as Japan.
Don’t forget, if Japan pushed for equaliser and were to concede, then they’re out.
Japan took conservative route (some say negative) and it paid off.
It’s their choice.
