I'm no fan of Japan or Japanese, but I have to agree with the cartoonist on the Syrian "refugees."

Perhaps she would have been more truthful by illustrating the hordes of military aged men who are seeking "asylum"
in European welfare states instead of joining secular rebel groups and fighting to save their country.

People who get upset about this are one of two things:
1) unaware of (or refuse to acknowledge) reality, or
2) too enamored with their own selfish or personalized view of how things should be according to themselves. Get over it.

I don't know what's "racist" about the illustration; perhaps the simple fact of a Japanese drawing a member of a different nationality is sufficient.
If the displaced people of the middle east were armed, we'd call them "invaders" and fight to repel them.
That's what happened many times when large numbers of central Asians arrived on the frontiers of Europe.
Since the west is much richer and more soft-hearted now than it was then, we try to accomodate the migrants.
This flood, though, is not going to let up as long as the poorer parts of the world are afflicted with environmental degradation, overpopulation, and unceasing civil wars.
Call the migrating people whatever you want, but it will not change the situation.

Seriously, why do we have to read something every day about someone having to apologize for hurting someone else's feelings?
It's getting ridiculous. Way too much political correctness, and exacerbated by this media. Grow up......
