Oxygen is the enemy of many nutrients.
It oxidises them into water-insoluble chemical compounds which the aquarium plants are unable to ingest.

Aquatic plants are thus dependent on a constant supply of non-oxidised nutrients.
Plants produce the oxygen which they need for their roots in their leaves and transport it into the finest root fibres.
Practical experience shows us that aquarium beds will only turn black and rot if the plants fail to transport oxygen
into the root area. The bed will only rot if the plants are unable to grow on account of other mistakes - AND NEVER VICE-VERSA!
つまり、底床は嫌気じゃないと駄目。
セットして１年くらいして、浮泥が蓋したような水槽の調子がいいのはこの辺なのかも。
