1. I asked for strength, that I might achieve.
I was mede weak that I might learn hambly to obey.
2. I asked for health,that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity,that I might do better things.
3. I asked for riches, that I might be happy
I was given poverty that I might be wise.
4. I asked for [beauty：改変] that I might have the [love] of men.
I was given [shabbness] that I might feel [warmth] of [love].
5. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
6. I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hoped for
Almost desprte myself,my unspoken prayers were answerd.
I am among all men, most richly blessed.

有名な作者不詳の詩であり、検索すれば日本語訳もいくつかでてきます。
私の手で4番の[beauty]などを改変していますが、改変や作曲を含めて
著作権上の問題はないはずです。
できれば1～５までの「I asked for」を「I asked god for」とも歌えるようにすることで
宗教的な賛美歌としても歌えるように工夫していただけるとうれしいです。
