If Japan Archipelago did not exist, the eastern waters of Korea would be not “the East Sea” but just “ the Pacific Ocean.” lol
(もしも日本列島が存在しなければ、朝鮮の東海域は、“東海”ではなく、単なる“太平洋”である(笑)
The South Koreans’ assertion that you should change names from “the Sea of Japan/Japan Sea ” to “ the East Sea” does definitely show their national character as an- ass- in- a- lion's- skin. (虎の威を借る狐)
In the Korean Peninsula, the seas around there have been called based on the orientation. Namely, South Koreans call the sea on the east side (the Sea of Japan 日本海) “the East Sea”, the sea on the west side (Yellow Sea 黄海) “the West Sea”, and the sea on the south side (Tsushima Strait 対馬海峡) “the South Sea.”
The “Yellow Sea”, located between the west of Korea and the mainland of China, is called “the West Sea” in South Korea, but South Koreans, who are particular to “the East Sea” , do not appeal “the West Sea” to the international community. This is not anything but the double standards of South Koreans as an- ass- in- a- lion's- skin !
FYI: In China, “東海”─literally, “East Sea” is meant “East China Sea” in English. If the name of “the East Sea” were forced to be used, a confusion would occur without fail. So North Koreans insist that it be called “the East Sea of Korea.”
