The incorrect driver was posted for 7970 (was RC7) - the proper RC11 is now live at the same link URLﾘﾝｸ(bit.ly) Sorry about that!
You can tell it's the correct driver in CCC SW info page - driver packaging version - 8.921.2-120119 ( meaning driver built Jan 19 2012)
Yes you should combine any of the latest drivers you're using with the latest CAP released Jan 18
The 8.921.2 RC11 driver is intended for AMD Radeon 7900 users, everyone else should keep using the 12.1 Preview driver
Other way to check - if you downloaded the driver before 2:20 EST you need the download again, otherwise you're good
