In this section, we shall prove the Looman-Menchoff theorem stated in §1.1. We shall need, just in this section, to allow rectangles to degenerate into segments.

で、続いて証明がある。約2ページ。但し、その前の4ページ半ほどが、準備のLemmma
証明の最後を見ると、背理法を使っている（分かったのはそれくらいだがｗ）
雰囲気は、上記のNarasimhan, Raghavan (2001)そのものみたいだね
私は、これを読む気がおきないのが残念ではありますｗ （証明がたいへんなのは分かった）
