We don’t know if it is transcendental or algebraic. If we find out that it is transcendental we would know that it is irrational as well, which we also don’t know.
My personal guess is that it is transcendental and thus irrational. I see no reason for it to end up as a convenient algebraic number, let alone a rational one.
