Anyway, on the moment of USSR collapse i was already old enough to watch some anime ^_^
USSR was ok, but turned into the total damn mess in last two decades of it's life. For now Russia manages much better.
I happen to be related with local administration (our town an 14 villages around)
and for now we have more or less working social and renovation programs and positive local budget.
In damn last 10 years of USSR they couldn't even make damn 100% wire phone covering in local houses. Could you imagine that?
20 damn kilometers from Moscow and private houses still have no damn phones.
Which was actually one of causes to rise local citizen comettee in mid 1990ies, and to made it legal part of administration in 2000ies. 2002 or so,
couldn't remember clearly, because it worked well without being legal
and integrated part of administration - we have solved phone problem in one damn summer.
