The process which led to this remarkable ehange was neither quick noreasy.
It was based,above all, on the sacrifices made by all sectors of the Northern Irish population and by their democratically expressed wish to choose reconciliation over revenge and conflict.
So far,the Power-Sharing Executive has held together and functioned effectively.
Only time will tell if the peace process has finally succeeded in Northern Ireland.
