After we watched 鋼の錬金術師 at my friend's house, I went out shopping
for a bit. So I didn't have time to reply immediately.
Very simply, it introduced most of the important characters. A rebel
Alchemist was running around the city, killing soldiers and doing some
kind of magic spell. Nobody knew what he was doing, until finally
Edward Elric and Alphonse caught up to him... but too late. He finished
the last part of the transmutation circle and started covering all of
Central City in ice.
In the dramatic final battle, the enemy alchemist used his own blood
to create a powerful blade and fought with Edward and Alphonse. They
finally defeated him, just as Roy Mustang and Armstrong destroy the
transmutation circle creating the ice, saving the city.
The end of the episode shows the Homonculii 'Lust' and 'Gluttony' in
Lior City, preparing to begin some sort of evil plan.
