Been using Mnemosyne for a while and it seems pretty nice.

Yeah, some of my friends also use it, and they're all good at Japanese.

But when it comes to the Japanese, they don't use it. Whenever I say it worked for me, they refuse to even take a look at it.

I understood about Lousiana better,

Economical problems and discriminations prevail..

WHat I had learned about south in school is ..
growing cotton is popular
the ratio of black people is high because they served as slaves
high-tech industries are moving there becasue of a sufficient labor force

Speaking of South, South Korea is quite popular among travelers.
Many foreigners visit Seoul, the capital of South Korea, because
it's a wonderful and advanced city. Those visiters find Korean culture
very interesting and impressive. Plus they have an added benefit of meeting
Korean guys in person. Yes, many girls want to see sexy and cool Korean guys
and have fun talking with them. Man, I can't say I don't like to accomodate all of them,
but it can't be helped. Who rejects beautiful white girls asking to have a date with you?

Korea doesn't stink at all. It's far better than that.

It's because they think Korea is an excelent place to live.

hentai? Hentai is a too strong a word for that. Hentai has connotation of

A Japanese-American is now Secretary of Veteran Affairs, in the Presidential Cabinet.

"(CNN) -- President-elect Barack Obama formally announced Sunday that retired Army Gen. Eric Shinseki, a decorated veteran and popular figure among critics of the Bush administration, is his pick to be secretary of Veterans Affairs.

...

The official announcement took place in Chicago, Illinois, on Sunday, the anniversary of Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941."

Once they adjust to American food, customs, gadgets whatsoever it wouldn't be that
big of a deal, but I guess it'd be just nice for them to have access to things they're more
familiar with. Or maybe it's just that they're picky about certain things. In fact some stores do
quite good business selling Japanese stuff where there's demand. If you get to know some
of them in your university, probably you'll find out what they're like.

Yup, I've been to the Chicago Mistuwa twice.
The first time I went with a bunch of friends who all went on the exchange trip and the second time I took my family.
My friends and I spent a good amount of time walking around the grocery store trying to find all the food we tried in Japan.
I actually bought some frozen takoyaki there (it was OK, not as good as the real thing).
The best thing about Mitsuwa though is the food court. It's basically the only place I know of where I can find Japanese food other then sushi.
Oh and the bookstore is pretty cool as well. The next time I go back I might buy a children's book or a manga with furigana so I can practice my Japanese.

Japanese congress proceeds to regulate child porn more strictly
from the pressure from USA. They may not think it as pressure
though. They seem to think whatever the US says right.
You won't be able to see such stuff sooner or later.
If you wanna protect such a perverted culture, you should pressure
Japan with USA power.
This kind of culture is sick and most of Japanese are away from it.
I personally have never seen this stuff and not serious about regulation.
But this quick move is weird. Definition can change for the convenience of
the feminists and gender free mania.
In japan gender free, which got old fashioned and disproved in the west
, is still prevelant in education.
In some public place gender sign in rest room is made to be confusing.
They don't like pink colour and skirt. They are allocated huge budget
from the government and they have their office in every public administration.

Lolicon is not illegal in the US. Time and time again, the Supreme Court has declared laws banning lolicon "unconstitutional" and struck them down. Most recently the Supreme Court of Iowa also declared such laws unconstitutional, in the Handley case.

You could never ban drawings in the US. The people believe in liberty too much.

All I know is, in the US, the average age of "first sex" is 16.9 for boys and 17.4 for girls. My college professor showed me these statistics in class.

But it varies a lot. Some kids have sex when they're 11 or 12, others then they're 32. There are ltos of different cultures in the US.

As I see it, Japanese English learners whose English are good enough
to understand what's going on here in detail are rare.
It's almost impossible for high school kids to follow conversdations here.
All they can do is to post one line or two. They don't/can't even read long posts.
If they do, it takes a lot of time to read and understand them. Replying them takes
much more time and energy for them.

Japanese in this thread consists of three types, being the first type the
majority.

1. NEET. They have lots of time to study English. Actually, for many years.
Their English is good enough because long time NEET here have a passion to
study English although they aren't willing to get a job. Or personality problems
of them make it difficult for them to be motivated to get a job.

2. University students or grad students. Their English proficiency is not
better than NEET but some are very good at English.

3. High school kids. Their English is not good enough to make thmeselves
understood. Even high school kids who can enter one of the best universities
in Japan don't have a good writing skills.

As long as NEET is the majority of this thread, Skype conference is
just a pie in the sky because they don't want to say they are NEET, talking on
Skype. If university or high school students were the majority here, Skype
conference had already been realized.

That's just my opinion as one of the hard core NEET.

One of the reasons why the university students from Japan studying
there is to learn English so you can strike a conversation in English
with them. International students from Japan don't mingle with American students
because their English isn't so good. You are the one who paves the way
for them to make freinds with America students.

100 students from Japan to Tennessee? That's a large number.
